Sécurité alimentaire et qualité

As a local processor, Pompous Group’s long-term profitability is closely linked to the profitability of its farmer suppliers. The success of Pompous Group in the long term depends on these local farmers’ networks and their supply of sufficient quantity of quality products to meet the needs of Pompous Group‘s manufacturing clients.

For this reason, Pompous Group works closely with farmers to help them to improve yields, quality and, in turn, their income. With training, access to markets, inputs and technology, farmers can produce more and better products. By providing valued services to farmers, such as assistance in obtaining internationally recognized certifications, Pompous Group aims to earn their loyalty as their preferred buyer and is able to offer differentiated products and solutions to the most discerning clients.

We work with consumers, farmers, communities, peers, civil society, banks and development finance institutions, foundations, shareholders, employees, and many other organizations, which leads to collaborative partnerships and programs that greatly extend our reach while improving our chances for success in 4 priority areas.

The vast majority of our farmers from whom we source crops, such as cocoa, coffee, cotton and cashew operate on just 1 or 2 hectares in countries such as Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Benin or Vietnam. Combined with the vagaries of weather, infrastructure, and global market pricing, many of them operate on a fine line between success and failure with little capacity to adapt, let alone grow. Our initiatives to support farmers include three major assistances. Our farmers are trained, training on good agricultural practices and extension services for crop, fish and poultry farmers. Our community has access to finance, agri-inputs, climate-resilient seed, and labor-saving tools and equipments. And finally, the digital tools, developing digital tools that can provide more tailored support.
